Part 1: Reading
This part focuses on comprehension, writing, and grammar skills.
Section A: Reading Comprehension
Task:
Students will be given a passage of approximately 600–700 words to read.
Types of Questions:
Multiple choice,
Short answer,
Longer response questions.
Students may need to;
Explain specific ideas,
Eescribe the meaning of words in context,
Summarize paragraphs.
Part 2: Writing
Section B: Directed Writing
Task:
Students are asked to write a specific piece of writing in response to a given scenario. It could be:
A letter (formal or informal).
A report.
An article or speech.
An email.
Section C: Composition
Task:
Students must write a composition (e.g., an essay) on one of several prompts provided. The composition could be:
Narrative (telling a story).
Descriptive (describing a scene or person).
Argumentative (expressing an opinion on a topic).
Discursive (discussing different viewpoints on an issue).
